Jackson Barry, Ellsworth senior pitcher/first baseman

A Winkin Award finalist who teamed with Dawson Curtis to form a powerful 1-2 pitcher/first base combo. The PVC Pitcher of the Year went 5-0 with a 0.92 ERA and 73 strikeouts. Offensively, Barry hit .511 (.603 OBP) with 23 runs and 19 RBI. He plans to go to Avon Old Farms for a prep school year.

Miles Brenner, Gorham senior shortstop/pitcher

The SMAA first-team shortstop with elite range and arm strength keyed the Rams’ Class A championship run. He shut out Falmouth in the regional quarterfinal, drove in three runs in the regional final against Noble, and held Bangor at bay for seven innings in the 11-inning state final. Overall, Brenner batted .304 with a team-high 25 RBI, and was 5-0 with a 0.77 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 45 1/3 innings. He will play at Wheaton College.

Noah Fullerton, Thornton Academy junior third baseman/catcher

The SMAA all-conference third baseman, Fullerton spent half of his time behind the plate because of injury. The University of Dayton commit, who quarterbacked Thornton to the Class A football title in the fall, came through with a .441 batting average, 19 RBI, 19 runs and eight steals while playing solid defense at both positions.

Max Hayward, Cape Elizabeth junior outfield/pitcher

A strong presence at the plate and on the mound, Hayward was the WMC co-pitcher of the year, going 3-3 with a 1.93 ERA and 57 strikeouts over 40 innings. He batted .455 (.525 OBP) with six doubles, three triples, 16 RBI, 25 runs and 10 steals.

Hudson Iacuessa, South Portland senior pitcher/first baseman

The SMAA’s Most Valuable Pitcher and a Winkin Award finalist, Iacuessa finished his four-season varsity career with a 5-1 senior season, posting a 0.76 ERA with back-to-back no-hitters. The 6-foot-4 lefty had 80 strikeouts against 12 walks over 45 2/3 innings. He also led the Red Riots offensively, hitting .411 with five doubles, a triple, 15 runs and 23 RBI. He will play at Stonehill College.

Kyle Johnson, Bangor senior catcher

Johnson, normally a first baseman, moved to catcher because of an injury. His poise, strong arm and leadership behind the plate — along with his .389 average and .591 on-base percentage — were keys to the Rams winning the Class A North title. He scored 25 runs, drove in 28 and had 14 steals to go with six doubles and a home run.

Levi Laverdiere, Monmouth Academy junior pitcher/infield

As he did in 2025, Laverdiere proved he can get outs in the playoffs, with complete-game wins in both the Class C South and state championship games. After missing four early games because of a knee injury, the three-sport standout finished 7-0 with a 1.86 ERA and 47 strikeouts over 33 innings and was an offensive catalyst, batting .442 (.579 OBP) and stealing 16 bases without being caught.

Denny Martin, Messalonskee senior first baseman/pitcher

Another of the many first basemen dominating the Winkin list and the Varsity Maine All-State team, Martin was a superb fielder (two errors) who excelled at catching throws in the dirt. He hit .450 with power (six doubles, one triple, three homers) and had a .562 OBP. He will join Hudson Iacuessa at Division I Stonehill College.

Colby Moholland, Washington Academy senior outfield/first baseman

A 6-foot-3 left-handed power hitter who is headed to the University of Maine, Moholland pounded 13 doubles, two triples and four homers for the Class C North champs. He hit .529 with a .679 OBP, drove in 32 runs, drew 24 walks, stole 23 bases and scored 41 runs.

Trot Moody, Old Orchard Beach senior shortstop/pitcher

A repeat Varsity Maine All-State pick, Moody also earned his second WMC Class C/D Player of the Year honor. The Winkin finalist and four-time WMC all-conference pick threw 50 2/3 innings with a 1.52 ERA, striking out 85 while walking 22. He hit .442 with eight doubles and two triples and was 24 for 24 on steal attempts.

Colin Sullivan, Mount Desert Island senior shortstop

The three-time PVC Player of the Year and Winkin Award finalist dominated with a .612 batting average, six doubles, five triples and five homers. He drew 15 walks and was hit by a pitch four times, boosting his OBP to .710. Sullivan was also 3-3 with a 2.30 ERA and 66 strikeouts in 33 innings pitched. He will play at Georgetown University.

Coach of the Year

Eric Palleschi, Monmouth Academy: Palleschi is directing a small-school powerhouse that has the fundamental skills, athletic tools, base-running moxie and big-game pedigree to pose problems against any team in the state. With a still youthful lineup, Monmouth won its second straight Class C championship and its third in four seasons after appearing in its fifth regional final in six seasons.
