The addition of La Rochelle further strengthens Jet2.com's expanding network from Birmingham Airport.
Jet2.com have announced a further expansion of their Summer 2027 programme from Birmingham Airport, with the launch of a new route to La Rochelle.
The new service responds to continued demand from customers and trade across the Midlands for greater choice from their local airport, while marking another significant addition to Jet2’s growing Birmingham operation.
Weekly Saturday flights to La Rochelle will operate from 22nd May to 25th September 2027, providing direct access to France’s Atlantic coast throughout the peak summer season.
The launch further strengthens Birmingham Airport’s connectivity with France and follows the recent addition of services to Bergerac. It also demonstrates the opportunities available to airlines seeking to grow from a capacity-ready airport serving one of the UK’s largest and most diverse regional markets.
Birmingham Airport handled a record 13.7 million passengers in 2025 and serves a catchment of 9.2 million people within one hour and 13.3 million within 90 minutes. Its central location, extensive road and rail connections, and diverse catchment support resilient year-round demand across leisure, business, and visiting friends and relatives markets.
With the addition of La Rochelle, Jet2 will serve five destinations in France from Birmingham Airport during Summer 2027, alongside Bergerac, Chambéry, Grenoble, and Nice.
The airline and tour operator’s Summer 2027 programme will be its largest ever from Birmingham Airport, with seven new destinations: Bergerac, Hurghada, Jersey, La Rochelle, Sharm El Sheikh, Thassos, and Tunisia.
This continued expansion reflects Birmingham Airport’s ability to support airline growth through available runway and terminal capacity, flexible operating opportunities, and access to a substantial regional market.
The airport is also delivering a £300 million investment programme focused on increasing capacity, strengthening operational resilience, and enhancing the passenger experience. The programme includes next-generation security facilities, expanded baggage and arrivals infrastructure, additional aircraft stands, and terminal improvements.
