More than a dozen fugitives wanted on sexual assault and other sex offense charges were arrested in Nevada as part of a national law enforcement operation, the United States Marshals Service said.
The Marshals Service teamed up with state and local agencies in 37 federal judicial districts and locations across the country for a multi-week enforcement operation that resulted in the arrest of more than 330 fugitives wanted for failure to register as sex offenders, sexual assault and other sex offenses, officials said in a news release.
Dubbed “Operation Adam’s Watch,” the law enforcement effort was named in honor of Adam Walsh and was conducted to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Adam Walsh Act. After Walsh, 6, was killed in Florida in 1981, his father, John Walsh, became a victims’ advocate and went on to host America’s Most Wanted.
Nevada was one of the participating districts, with the arrests of 16 fugitives wanted on sexual assault and other sex offense charges, according to the release. According to authorities, two offenders were charged with violation of failure to register as a sex offender.
The news release said arrests in the operation included:
— Antwon Maddox, who was arrested in Las Vegas on July 20. Maddox was wanted by Las Vegas police on three counts of lewdness committed by a person over 18 with a child 14 or 15.
— Paul Provenzano, who was arrested in Las Vegas on July 21. Provenzano was wanted by Las Vegas police on suspicion of possession of visual presentation depicting sexual conduct of a child.
— Alan Vincent, who was arrested in Las Vegas on July 21. Vincent was wanted by Las Vegas police on two counts of lewdness with a child under 14.
— Dagoberto Miranda, who was arrested in Las Vegas on July 23. Miranda was wanted by Las Vegas police on two counts of sexual assault against a child under 14 and three counts of lewdness by persons over 18 with a child under 14.
— Tylor Bloom, who was arrested in Las Vegas on July 26. Bloom was wanted by the Nevada Parole and Probation on probation violation with an underlying charge of attempt to commit luring children or mentally ill persons with the use of technology.
