Whoopi Goldberg revealed she welcomed her second great-grandchild after her grandson's girlfriend gave birth to their baby over the weekend.

The movie icon, 70, shared the exciting news on Monday morning's taping of The View and said her grandson Mason Dean and his girlfriend Hylee Whitley have become new parents.

'I'm going to start out today because I have some fun news from over the weekend,' she told her cohosts about the birth of her great-granddaughter. 

'My family welcomed Lotus Dean to the world. She's 6 pounds, 3 ounces,' the EGOT winner shared about her 26-year-old grandson's newborn daughter.

Sharing a photo of her family, she pointed out their newest family member: 'That's Lotus, and [that's] Ruby [the dog]. That's her dad, my grandson Mason.' 

Her fellow talk show co-hosts congratulated Goldberg and also gave a shoutout to her only child, her lookalike daughter Alex Martin, now a grandmother of two.

Then, Goldberg opened up becoming a great-grandmother for the first time at age 58 and now welcoming another great-grandbaby to their family at 70.  

Goldberg shares her daughter Alex with her first husband Alvin Martin. 

Alex, 51, is also to mother Amarah, 36, and Jerzey, 29, in addition to Mason, all of whom she shares with husband Bernard Dean.

Goldberg first became a great-grandmother in 2014 when her eldest grandchild Amara welcomed daughter Charli Rose. 

Her grandson Mason, 26, took to Instagram to share photos of him cradling his newborn daughter as he shared his baby's full name: Lotus Marley Dean. 

In several snapshots, he stared adoringly at his newborn daughter as he marked the major milestone of becoming a dad for the first time. 

His girlfriend Hylee Whitley also shared Polaroid photos of them cuddling together in a hospital bed while she was in labor and preparing to give birth.

She also included a photo of her holding her baby for the first time. 

In her caption, she shared that on Friday, December 5, she and Mason welcomed their 'sweet angel' to their family. 

She also shared an Instagram Story photo of Mason lying down holding 'his little princess' in his arms. 

In response to a photo of Mason, a firsttime dad, staring adoringly at his newborn daughter, cohost Sunny Hostin gushed to the second-time great-grandmother: 'And he looks in love. He absolutely does.'

'Yeah, that'll change,' Goldberg jokingly replied. 

Their fellow cohosts congratulated the Sister Act actress before she went on to reflect on her growing family and her role as a great-grandmother.

'It's a wonderful thing,' she mused. 'This is my second.' 

Cohost Ana Navarro chimed in with a congratulatory message to Goldberg's daughter too. 'And congratulations to Alex, who is a grandmother again.' 

'I don't think about that. I simply think about myself,' Goldberg continued. 'Because I never thought I'd have two great-grandkids — to be there for that.' 

Hostin then pondered what her great-grandbabies call her and asked Goldberg: 'What do they call you? Glam-ma or...?' 

'No, they call me Whoopi, because I'm not the grandma, I'm the great grandma! So just Whoopi,' she replied. 

Cohost Sara Haines then imitated Goldberg's first great-grandchild, now 11, and said: 'Oopi, sit down!' 

Goldberg laughed and quipped back: 'She couldn't say her Ws, so I was "Oopi" for the longest time. So we'll see, but I think this one, she's ready to get stuff done.' 

Back when her first great-granddaughter Charli was born in early 2014, Goldberg opened up about her new roles after raising her daughter and watching her raise her children. 

'I wasn't your normal grandmother, and I'm not going to be your normal great-grandmother,' she said while making an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in July 2014. 

She noted that she became a grandmother in her 30s, and she said she already decided what she wanted her great-grandkids to refer to her as when Amara was born.

 'She better call me Whoopi,' she said on the show.
