Usher has broken his silence after a video of a fan rejecting his seductive onstage moves went viral this week.
The pop icon, 47, who is currently embarking on The R&B Tour with Chris Brown, was joined by fan Gabrielle Cheyenne as he danced and sang to her at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on Saturday.
The fan had been pulled from a VIP section inside the venue and was escorted to a bed on the stage.
However, as the shirtless My Boo hitmaker began singing and seductively dancing close to her, she seemingly held an awkward and uncomfortable expression on her face.
Usher takes swipe at ‘stiff’ fanWhen the fan remained stiff during the interaction, the performer eventually shot a shocked look at the audience and exclaimed, 'I don't think she wanna be on the stage.'
Usher bounced back from the fracas in X-rated fashion as he invited a more willing participant on stage at his Birmingham, Alabama show at Protective Stadium on Tuesday – before simulating [sexual intercourse] with her in a jaw-dropping moment.
Taking a swipe at Cheyenne, he said: 'Now before we get started, don’t bring your [Expletive] up here if you don’t want to be here.'
Referencing Cheyenne's claim that she had 'pretty privilege', he said, 'God don’t like ugly, but he most certainly don’t feel too good about pretty privilege either.'
Usher was later straddled by another glamorous fan who was filmed grinding on the singer while he lay on a bed in another viral clip.
Concertgoer breaks silence on Usher snubCheyenne, a 24-year-old nurse from Chattanooga, has since taken to social media to break her silence after many wrote online that she should have declined the opportunity.
She wrote on Facebook: 'First off NOBODY is declining to go on stage. I looked good asf, you thought I wasn't gonna let THOUSANDS of people see me?? On the big screen where you [Expletives] will never be?'
The mom of one went on to explain that she and her mother originally had floor seats, but were offered an upgrade to the VIP section thanks to 'pretty privilege.'
While some internet users speculated that she'd wanted a lap dance from Brown, 37, rather than Usher, Cheyenne noted that she was not told which artist she would be joining onstage.
Cheyenne's aunt, Tia Byrd, also weighed in on the matter, using Facebook to defend her niece.
Aunt praises niece for respecting boundaries'Just so ya’ll know, that viral young lady at the Usher concert was my [Expletive] niece and we [were] all together! She was bad enough to be chosen and that man is literally [twice] her age,' she began her fiery post.
She also mentioned Usher's wife, Jennifer Goicoechea, revealing that her niece spoke with her backstage.
Byrd continued: 'After she left the stage she had a nice conversation with [Usher's] wife! Idc what anyone else would do but at least she had enough respect for her mom and dad, boyfriend, brother, AND CHILD! At the end of the day, she went home to her man and HE went home to HIS WIFE!'
Cheyenne railed against her critics in Instagram Stories posts shared on Sunday.
She explained that her Facebook post was meant for 'the hating h**s in my city which is Chattanooga.'
Cheyenne hits back at online trollsIn a separate post, she proclaimed, 'My attitude isn't "nasty" until provoked!! Y'all aren't gonna get on the internet calling me out my name and disrespecting me and expect me to keep it cool!'
She said that 'in real life' she is 'quiet' and keeps to herself, but warned, 'Don't think that y'all are gonna bully me about an experience that you didn't get.'
Usher and Cheyenne's viral exchange took place at Nissan Stadium.
After being pulled from the VIP area inside the venue, the fan was escorted to a bed on the stage.
However, as the My Boo hitmaker began singing and dancing close to her, her facial expression was frozen as she appeared unmoved by the artist's advances.
Usher's 2004 song Can U Handle It? played as he moved his shirtless torso over her body, prompting her to recline slowly while stiff as a board.
The seasoned performer eventually shot a shocked look at the audience and exclaimed, 'I don't think she wanna be on the stage.'
He took his in-ear headphones out one by one before gesturing for Cheyenne to be removed.
Social media users jumped to comment sections to share their thoughts as one joked, 'She was looking for Chris Brown & settled for Usher.'
Another wrote, 'Pay extra to do that on stage is so funny,' and a fan added, 'I don't blame her. And I'm an usher fan.'
Another pointed out, 'Y'all do realize that these women are willingly going on stage. She could've said NO! Why go on stage if you aren't going to participate... that was....! Yeh.'
'Not mad at her at all but why go on the stage every concert he does this,' an Instagram user typed.
One added, 'Perhaps she was nervous. She was smiling like she wanted to be on stage.'
Cheyenne has since been directing people to follow her on TikTok and Snapchat, promising an upcoming 'story time' post, but she has yet to go into more detail about the incident.
