The Tiger's Apprentice is based on Laurence Yep's novel of the same name, which was published in 2003.

The movie is centered on a young Chinese-American boy who is tasked with guarding a phoenix egg.

The Tiger's Apprentice is currently scheduled to make its debut on the Paramount+ streaming service on February 2.
