HEKTOR lenses can now be used on ARRI cameras with the new Hexamo mount system from P+S Technik. This opens up HEKTOR to every major cinema camera available. 

Last September Leitz entered the mirrorless lens market with the Leitz HEKTOR lenses, a brand new set of prime lenses designed specifically for cameras using mirrorless mounts. Then, on April Leitz announced it was expanding the compatibility of their popular HEKTOR line of mirrorless prime lenses for cine and photo use with the introduction of an interchangeable G mount, making the lens lineup compatible with the Fujifilm GFX Eterna 55. 

Now, the HEKTOR lenses extend their compatibility to ARRI cameras, through the Hexamo mount system from P+S Technik. This means that the distinctive look of the Leitz HEKTOR Cine lenses is now available on the ARRI Alexa platform. 

 The name HEKTOR is a reference to the original Leica Hektor lenses created in the 1930s by legendary lens designer Max Berek for Leica’s original screw mount 35mm cameras. Though not an adaptation of those lenses, the new HEKTOR series pays homage to the inspiration they provided with a silver anodized finish and the inclusion of a 73mm, an iconic lens in the original line. 

Originally designed exclusively for modern mirrorless camera systems, the HEKTOR lenses feature a very short flange focal distance—making them incompatible with the ARRI Alexa using conventional adapters. P+S Technik has solved this challenge with a precisely engineered mount conversion system. 

The modification includes:

• Replacing the original Alexa mount with a specially developed low-profile mount from P+S Technik.
• Replacing and calibrating the rear mount of each HEKTOR lens.
• Maintaining full infinity focus and compatibility with the Alexa’s internal filter system.
• Providing a robust, play-free locking mechanism capable of handling the forces of modern wireless FIZ systems on set.

The result is the unmistakable HEKTOR signature—organic rendering, smooth focus fall-off, and beautiful cinematic flares—combined with the reliability and performance of the ARRI Alexa.

The new Hexamo mount system is available now from CBM and P+S Technik.
