BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. Georgia’s business sector turnover reached 62 billion lari ($23.3 billion) in the first quarter of 2026, up 10.7% compared to the same period of 2025

Data obtained by Trend from the country’s National Statistics Office indicates, that production value increased by 12.4% year-on-year to 23.3 billion lari ($8.8 billion).

Georgia's business sector is driven primarily by trade, manufacturing, transportation and logistics, construction, information and communications technologies (ICT), tourism, financial services, and agriculture. Major corporate players include Bank of Georgia, TBC Bank, Georgian Railway, Georgian State Electrosystem, as well as large energy, real estate and logistics companies. Georgia's strategic location on the Middle Corridor connecting Central Asia with Europe has also strengthened the role of transport and logistics in business activity.

Georgia is widely regarded as one of the most business-friendly economies in the region due to its liberal tax regime and investment legislation. Since 2017, retained and reinvested corporate profits have been exempt from profit tax under the so-called Estonian model, while the standard corporate profit tax applies only to distributed earnings.

The country operates four Free Industrial Zones in Poti, Kutaisi and Tbilisi, offering extensive tax incentives for export-oriented businesses. The government also supports entrepreneurship through the Enterprise Georgia program, which promotes investment, exports and SME development.
