Aware that exotic automobiles add their own indelible brushstrokes to the art of travel, Jonny Dodge—bon vivant, gearhead, and social planner for the world’s glitterati—decided to provide enthusiasts with a new canvas for automotive expression in 2009, debuting the annual Dodgeball Rally. 

Robb Report enrolled in his road-trip master class last year, a four-day jaunt from Monaco to Croatia. Yet unlike more formidable rallies, such as the modern iteration of the Mille Miglia, where sleep deprivation and grueling stints in archaic models are the rules of engagement, Dodgeball emphasizes top-tier hospitality, fine dining, and restorative amenities.

Although there are supercars aplenty, sports cars and classics are equally welcome, as is taking advantage of the turnkey proposition offered by U.K.-based Starr Luxury Cars and its founder, Ike Ordor, responsible for supplying the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet we piloted. During our foray, the field of approximately a dozen vehicles also featured a Lamborghini Huracán Evo, a Maserati MC20, and a stable of Prancing Horses that included the SF90, 488, 296 GTB, and 812 GTS.

“Jonny has spent close to two decades building something rare, a community where the cars matter, but the people matter more,” Ordor says. “At Starr Luxury Cars, that’s exactly the experience we try to create for our clients every day. So, when we sat down and talked about Dodgeball, it felt less like a partnership and more like two parts of the same vision finally meeting.”

At a cost of approximately $8,600 to $23,100 per person (depending on the package), the 2026 edition covers Milan to Barcelona from September 3 through 6 while taking the rally to new heights. “For me, the real excitement about this year’s route is the fact that we get to experience the Pyrenees and the Alps,” says Dodge, founder of businesses that specialize in the sales and charter of superyachts and private jets, as well as one that organizes Formula 1 experiences. He notes that the itinerary includes “the walled city of Carcassonne, where they are actually opening the city up exclusively for us.”

It’s no wonder that many drivers become regulars, such as 10-time participant Robert Rooks. “It’s about the people we meet, the relationships we have, the friendships… it’s everything,” Rooks explains. “Cars, people, location, roads, routes—everything.” Which is precisely why our bucket list now has a repeat entry.
