Grand Theft Auto 6 is at long last entering its final phase before being released into the wild in a matter of months. You can now actually pre-order a copy of the next GTA title that should land on your doorstep on November 19th, 2026, after what's been a long time coming.

We did kind of have an inkling this was coming at some point - back in May, there had been an email sent out from Best Buy via affiliate platform Impact to let people know that the GTA 6 pre-order campaign was due to begin on the 18th May. We are now a month later, and Rockstar has finally provided us with the cover art, pricing information and more besides as the game is availale to pre-order right now.

If you've been wondering where you can pick up what is easily going to be the biggest games release of the decade, then you're in the right place - below we're going to have all the different editions, prices and links to purchase Grand Theft Auto 6 (it's quite a relief saying that, let me tell you) with all the important information you need.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is going to be available at release on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, both in physical and digital forms, and is going to retail for $79.99/£69.99 for the game's standard edition. Take-Two (Rockstar's publisher) had shot down the idea of GTA 6 being a digital-only release back in February, with CEO Strauss Zelnick stating that it "wasn't the plan", and now we know he was right. However, the physical edition is essentially a code in a box, rather than being something with an actual disc - allegedly this is being done to prevent leaks. It has been confirmed that folks who grab the physical edition will be able to pre-load content a week early - November 12th - so the game is ready to go on November 19th.

Anybody purchasing the standard edition between now and November 20th can benefit from what Rockstar is calling the 'Vintage Vice City' pack, whichbundles a collection of items harkening from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - "when the neon burned brightest", according to Rockstar. This includes:

• Flash back to when the neon burned brightest with the Vintage Vice City Pack, featuring the timeless two-tone '55 Vapid Stanier sedan and Shore Court Garage alongside the world-famous Ocean Beach, decadent outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia, and an iconic weapon pattern that echoes the excess of the past.
• '55 Vapid Stanier and Shore Court Garage: Cruise Shore Drive in the legendary '55 Vapid Stanier, a Vice City classic meant to be admired, and store it in a new personal garage just a stone's throw from the glistening sands of Ocean Beach. Like all personal garages in Leonida, you'll have a weapon locker to customize your loadout for any occasion plus a secure place to deposit stolen goods for the local Fence, who will accept most stolen goods at a reasonably discounted rate.
• Outfits and Hairstyles: Dress for excess with two Vice City luxury looks for both Jason and Lucia:
• Jason: An effortlessly chic linen suit in vintage pastel, complemented by the cut and coif of the decade of decadence.
• Lucia: The world is yours in a red sequin mini dress and curls.
• Exclusive Weapon Pattern: Channel the original Vice City kingpin, Tommy Vercetti, and his iconic palm tree button-up with a tropical pattern available to adorn most guns.

If you want a little bit more for your money, then Rockstar is also offering an Ultimate Edition for GTA 6, which includes the base game and a raft of additional extras, which we'll list in full below (warning, it's quite a long one) This is going to cost you $99.99/ £89.99 - some $20/£20 more than the standard edition, and whether that's worth it is purely your decision. Rockstar has also said it's going to offer an Ultimate Edition upgrade pack as a separate purchase - this is becoming more common, as we recently saw for the Marvel's Wolverine pre-order, with its own goodies available as a separate purchase atop the base game.

Here's what the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition includes:

• '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and Paradise Garage: A Mud Club monster offering impressive off-road handling for the backwoods of Mount Kalaga and beyond, conveniently stored at a garage in Watson Bay, featuring a weapon locker to customize your loadout for any occasion plus a stash box to deposit stolen goods to be fenced.
• '95 Grotti Cheetah: Grotti's signature mid '90s sports car and ode to Shore Drive, the '95 Grotti Cheetah, complete with a minimalist, retro-futuristic livery and available to punctuate later-stage action.
• Vehicles and Vapid Ganado Retro Build at Jason's Safehouse: Switch gears and soak up the sun in either an Army fatigue-tinged Dinka Enduro motorcycle and Crest Kayak, or inject some muscle and classic stylings into Jason's well-worn Vapid Ganado pickup with exclusive mods including a cab spoiler, rear aerials, and special livery.

Obviously this hasn't been an easy road for Rockstar for us to actually get to the point of GTA 6's release. To quote the Tom Petty track in the game's first trailer, it's been a "long, long road" - see what I did there? The game was originally set to release in Autumn 2025 after the first trailer dropped in December 2023, although in May 2025, Rockstar announced it was moving the launch to 26th May 2026. In November of last year, though, Rockstar delayed the game again to its current release date of 19th November 2026. According to Take-Two, this delay is designed to give "some additional time to finish the game with the high level of polish players expect and deserve. Rockstar has our full support, of course, and we are confident they will deliver an unrivalled blockbuster entertainment experience".

The news of the pre-order follows speculation last year from one report that GTA 6 could have retailed for $100, although Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke about the game's retail price back in April. While he didn't explicitly state the all-important number, he noted that the company's job "is to charge way, way, way less of the value delivery".

GTA 6's development has reportedly cost between $1bn and $1.5bn. Take-Two's boss Strauss Zelnick has admitted the game has been "expensive", though he has not confirmed just how expensive, and a hefty pre-order campaign such as this one is likely to help recoup some of that hefty investment.

This pre-order news also follows confirmation PlayStation has a marketing deal in place with Grand Theft Auto 6's publisher Take-Two, with Sony recently urging PS4 users to upgrade to a PS5 to be able to experience the game on its release. Likewise, Sony itself has said GTA 6 will play best on PS5 in a new blog post, and said the game is "PS5 Pro enhanced", although we're not entirely sure how at the moment. The Microsoft Store listing also says it's "Xbox Series X enhanced", too. It has been stated GTA Online isn't coming to GTA 6 just yet, with Rockstar calling the game an "immersive single player experience".

Fans are also hopeful a third trailer may be released rather soon, especially as the most recent trailer for GTA 6 was released over a year ago and it seems high time for a new one. With the marketing campaign in full swing from this moment on, it potentially makes sense that we'd get a proper third trailer very soon, with further ones down the line for specific characters and other game information, as we did for GTA 5 many moons ago.

Elsewhere, Rockstar is facing pressure from MPs and the Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain (IWGB) to be more transparent about its actions following the firing of staff members in a move seen by many as 'union busting' in October last year.
