Corsair's RM850x is an easy PSU to recommend due to its fantastic reputation for being a reliable and powerful unit, adhering to the stringent Cybernetics Gold efficiency rating and having more than enough power for most folks. Usually, this PSU goes for £125-£140, although if you're happy with a manufacturer refurb unit, you can save a lot with it being £70 from Scan Computers.

Before going any further, it's worth explaining that this is a manufacturer refurbished unit that has been professionally checked, cleaned and refurbished by Corsair themselves. It's otherwise in new condition, and comes with a two year warranty. That's the only big difference between these certified refurb units and the retail ones at full price, which come with a much longer ten year warranty.

This is a reliable Cybernetics Gold rated unit, which is is testament to its efficiency, and also provides peace of mind, too. Inside, this RM850x features a 140mm mag-lev fan with custom engineered rotors for a top-spec choice with little noise and excellent reliability, which is solid. The fact this is also a fully modular PSU also helps for cable management, and to allow for better airflow. Building a PC without a modular power supply can be a bit of a pain, given you'd have to find somewhere to put all the loose cables you aren't using, so a fully modular option keeps things convenient. Its 150x140x86mm dimensions are conventional for ATX power supplies, too, giving you a lot as far as compatibility goes to slot it into a variety of systems.

850W of power is enough for running even some of the beefiest components available, with it actually being above the recommended minimum wattage of 750W for AMD's top RX 9070 XT. Nvidia officially recommends an 850W unit for the RTX 5080, while it's above the minimum for the 5070 Ti. Of course, everything underneath that from both Nvidia and AMD will be more than adequate for this wattage.
