A plan has been put forward for a massive multi-storey car park with 14 levels.

The building in Wrexham would be seven storeys high - with two levels for parking on each storey. It would be 21 metres high.

While many are hoping for a facility like this to solve the parking issues at places like Wrexham Maelor hospital it is a private sector investment planned for the city's industrial estate.

It would be within the Ipsen Biopharm East Site at Wrexham Industrial Estate and provide just over 400 parking spaces for their staff.

The application to Wrexham Council states: "The brief for the development is to deliver a robust, efficient and future‑proofed parking solution that meets Ipsen’s future operational requirements whilst making effective use of the applicant’s land.

"The proposal forms part of a wider campus-wide parking strategy intended to consolidate dispersed staff parking and improve the efficiency, safety and management of parking across the wider Ipsen site.

"The vision is to create a practical and legible parking structure that integrates positively with the wider Ipsen Site, supporting efficient movement within the East Site, and minimising environmental and visual impact through a simple, functional architectural and landscape approach."

There are hopes this private sector development could provide inspiration for the health board.

One person said: "That is how you do it Maelor, someone show the hospital management, MPs MSs and anyone else who need to know how to solve parking issues, but just waffle hot air about the subject."

Another added: "That is more needed at the hospital." Others suggested this was required near Wrexham's Stok Cae Ras.
