The two sides discussed potential partnerships to support innovation, exchange expertise, and advance space science and technology research in line with international best practices.

Arabian Gulf University and the Bahrain Space Agency have discussed strengthening cooperation in scientific research, innovation and space-related technologies as both institutions seek to expand joint initiatives supporting the Kingdom’s growing space sector.

During a meeting held at Arabian Gulf University’s headquarters in Salmaniya, the university’s president, Dr Saad bin Saud Al-Fahaid, received Bahrain Space Agency Chief Executive Officer Dr Mohammed Al-Asiri and his delegation to explore opportunities for deeper collaboration.

The discussions focused on enhancing partnerships in scientific research, knowledge exchange and the development of joint projects related to space science and advanced technologies. Both sides highlighted the importance of aligning future initiatives with international best practices while supporting their shared scientific and developmental objectives.

Dr Al-Fahaid emphasised the value of closer cooperation with the Bahrain Space Agency, noting that such collaboration could strengthen the university’s research capabilities and create new opportunities for innovative projects in space and emerging technologies.

For his part, Dr Al-Asiri said the partnership between the Bahrain Space Agency and Arabian Gulf University represents an important foundation for advancing scientific research and technological innovation. He welcomed efforts to further expand cooperation between the two institutions.

The meeting forms part of broader efforts by both organizations to widen academic and research collaboration, develop joint programmes and support the advancement of the space sector and scientific research in Bahrain and the wider region.
