СпутникиРНSpaceXРоскосмосNASAThe Department of Home Affairs has published its final annual Policing Plan of the administration, setting out the priorities, objectives and direction for the Isle of Man Constabulary over the coming year.
The Plan sets high level aims and objectives to support the Chief Constable in effectively prioritising resources. It places victims at its centre and reinforces the Island’s commitment to strive to be the safest island in the British Isles.
This year’s Plan continues the strategic direction set over the last three years, while recognising the evolving threats facing the Island, including serious and organised crime, financial crime, exploitation and road safety. It also prioritises tackling the harm caused by Violence Against Women and Girls and Domestic Abuse.
Strong partnership working remains central to achieving these aims, with collaboration required across agencies to deliver joined-up services and preventative approaches.
Minister for Justice and Home Affairs Jane Poole-Wilson MHK said:
‘This Policing Plan reflects both the Department’s key priorities for the year ahead and the strong progress already made by the Constabulary against previous plans.
‘By building on what has been achieved and focusing on prevention, partnership and innovation, this Plan sets a clear direction for this year. It will help ensure the Isle of Man remains a safe and secure place for everyone who lives, works and visits here. Our shared goal is to continue making our Island safer, while supporting victims and tackling the complex challenges that modern policing is presented with.’
The Department will continue to monitor progress against the Plan’s objectives and performance, ensuring that the Constabulary is efficient and effective, adapting to emerging risks and community needs while maintaining public confidence.
The plan will be laid before the July sitting of Tynwald.
