MOSCOW, August 6. /TASS/. The share of global automotive brands in the Russian market amounted to 15% in July 2026, matching the record levels seen this February, Director of the Avtostat analytical agency Sergey Tselikov said on his Telegram channel.

"In July, global brands (excluding Russia, China, and Belarus) accounted for 15% of the market: 18,300 units out of a total of 122,000 new passenger car sold. It is worth noting that this segment’s share peaked in February (15.9%) before subsequently declining," he said.

Following the record set in February, the share of this segment declined, the expert said, adding that from April to June it hovered between 12% and 14%. However, in July it began to rise again.

"Incidentally, during the same period last year (January-July 2025), global brands accounted for just 6.5% of the market, less than half the current figure," he noted.

Among global brands, Japanese models are most popular (8.2%), followed by German (4.3%) and Korean (1.6%) ones, Tselikov added.
