KRK’s flagship studio monitor range now includes KRK Mesh, a technology that offers wireless control of the system via the KRK Control App.
KRK’s flagship studio monitor range has just been upgraded, with three new fifth-generation models combining the performance of their predecessors with KRK Mesh, a technology that offers wireless control of the system via the KRK Control App.
KRK say that every component that makes up the V Series Five was purpose-built by their engineers to deliver precise, transparent monitoring. The series employs custom-designed transducers, including woven Kevlar woofers that are housed in cast aluminium frames and have been optimised for low distortion and linear low-frequency performance. The high end is taken care of by a one-inch silk-dome tweeter that features an integrated waveguide that enhances off-axis consistency and stereo imaging.
The V Series Five also provides extensive room-optimisation capabilities. Users can access 49 preset Boundary EQ combinations and seven fully parametric PRO EQ filters, making it possible to tailor the monitors’ performance to virtually any acoustic environment. Three user presets can be stored and instantly recalled, making quick work of comparing tuning profiles or adapting the system to different production needs. Thanks to the new KRK Mesh integration, users can now remotely control the likes of system settings, EQ profiles, level management and performance optimisation, with linking options catering to everything from stereo setups to Dolby Atmos rigs.
There are three models available: the compact V4, which features a four-inch woofer and spans a frequency range of 48Hz–40kHz, with a maximum of 113 dB SPL; the V6, which incorporates a 6.5-inch woofer, extends low-frequency performance to 40Hz, and delivers up to 118 dB SPL; and the largest model, the V8, which has an eight-inch woofer, extends down to 32Hz, and delivers a peak output of 121 dB SPL.
As for connectivity, all three systems feature line-level inputs on XLR/TRS combo sockets, and also offer support for AES3 digital inputs.
Pricing & Availability“The V Series has long been KRK’s flagship studio monitor, trusted by engineers and producers around the world for its precision and reliability. The V Series Five builds on that legacy, delivering the sonic accuracy for which V Series is known, while evolving to meet the demands of today’s modern workflows. The latest generation represents a significant leap forward in both performance and functionality.” — Andrew Ladner, Marketing Manager, KRK
Pricing and availability information for the V Series Five monitors is yet to be confirmed.
