Founded in 2019 with the aim of helping educators to embrace new music technology, Technology in Music Education (TiME UK) acts as a bridge between product developers and the real-world classroom use of their products. With a 1,000-strong membership, TiME UK introduces leading music technology brands including Ableton, Yamaha, Sontronics, Woojer, Digit Music, Robkoo, Soundbeam and Arcana Instruments to the UK education sector. 

Now, thanks to conversations that started at The NAMM Show, the organisation have announced a new partnership with Technology in Music Education (TI:ME USA), creating an international platform for sharing best practice in music technology, inclusion, digital and adaptive instruments, networks and professional development models.

Millions of young people in both the UK and US require additional educational support, increasing the need for accessible music technology, adaptive instruments and inclusive teaching approaches. TI:ME USA have been running since 1995, and take an active role in helping music educators incorporate technology into their teaching. The two organisations say that the new Memorandum of Understanding commits them to professional development, research and knowledge exchange, advocacy, shared resources and international networking, all of which focus on improving the use of technology in music education. It is hoped that the programmes will provide access to wider expertise, training, examples and shared resources from both sides of the Atlantic.
