Apple's next batch of iPhones looks set to launch next month at its usual autumn keynote in Cupertino, California. If Apple follows tradition, we should expect to see the latest gadgets introduced within the next six weeks.

Apple won't confirm anything until a few weeks before the official keynote kicks off, but history gives us a good idea of when to expect the big reveal.

The last trio of Apple iPhone launches have all taken place during early September.

Looking at the 2026 calendar, that could mean the iPhone 18 range might be shown to the world on September the 8th, 9th or 10th.

Apple iPhone 17 - Tuesday, September 9 • Apple iPhone 16 - Monday, September 9 • Apple iPhone 15 - Tuesday, September 12 • Apple iPhone 14 - Wednesday, September 7 • Apple iPhone 13 - Tuesday, September 14

Although this year's date could be similar to previous launches, there could be two dramatic differences. Firstly, rumours are rife that a standard iPhone 18 - which will replace the current iPhone 17 - won't appear during the keynote in Cupertino.

Some experts think that those wanting to switch to this device will have to wait until spring 2027. That's highly unusual, especially as these non-Pro devices remain hugely popular across the globe.

So what will fill the gap?

That's the second major change, with the US firm expected to finally unveil its first foldable this year. This bendy device could look very similar to the new Galaxy Z Fold8, which has just been shown off by Samsung and includes a design that looks a little like a passport.

If Apple follows its arch-rival, users could be treated to a device with a display that mimics that of the iPad mini.

This bigger panel can then snap shut, making it small enough to pop into pockets.

Foldables still aren't mass market products, but maybe an iPhone could change all that.

Alongside the iPhone Fold, new Pro models could also be revealed, meaning the September event might be more about Apple's more premium devices.

It's certainly a showcase no Apple fan will want to miss, and it could be just over a month away.

An official date may be announced within the next few weeks, so watch this space.
