Among them are a 'charlatan' psychic who sexually assaulted two women and a 'vicious animal' who left one man fighting for his life and another with life-changing injuries
Masked burglars, flashers and a "charlatan" psychic who sexually assaulted two women, are among those locked up in North Wales courts in June 2026.
They also included a man who beat his brother unconscious while wielding a firearm, a "vicious animal" who left one man fighting for his life and another with life-changing injuries after a series of violent assaults and a drug dealing pensioner.
Judges felt their crimes were so serious, the criminals had to be sent to jail. Here is a summary of these cases
A masked burglary gang left a man fearing for his life as they ransacked his home. The gang fled after the victim shouted from his window, but one member, Kyle Robinson, was caught after leaving DNA at the scene.
While Robinson was on bail, he savagely attacked his partner, leaving her with "serious" injuries. The 36-year-old, of Aston Road in Shotton, appeared at Mold Crown Court after admitting burglary and inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.
Judge Egan sentenced Robinson to a total of 43 months in prison, with the "appropriate" time to be served in custody and the rest on licence. He was ordered not to approach, or contact his ex-partner, for 10 years under a Domestic Abuse Prevention Order.
A man barred from contacting his ex partner after receiving a suspended sentence following threats to kill got in touch with her within days.
Mold Crown Court was told Lee Emberton breached the order within five days after he had been given a 30 month jail sentence, suspended for two years.
A judge activated that prison sentence after he breached it. He will serve the "appropriate" amount of time in custody - likely to be 40%, with the rest on licence.
Stephen Francis Mitchell, 38, has been jailed for attempting to speak to someone he thought was a child online and exposing himself at a train station. Mitchell, of Llanegryn, was made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) in 2018.
However, in September 2023 he breached the order when he began using an online chat to speak to who he believed to be a 12-year-old girl. He asked her to send photos of herself to him. The 'child' was in fact an undercover police officer.
He was jailed for three years and 11 months and made subject of a new SHPO lasting indefinitely.
A mum feared her partner was going to be killed in front of her when two masked men armed with a "gun" attempted to burgle their home. It was the second property targeted by Leon Longmore and Sam Roberts in the early hours of February 22, 2026, Mold Crown Court heard.
Before that, the thugs had been to a house on Maes y Coed, Mynydd Isa. The victim heard banging at her door and could see two males kicking her front door via footage from her Ring doorbell, said Gemma Gordon, who was prosecuting.
The court was told a woman who had been driving Longmore and Roberts that morning had become increasingly concerned by their behaviour and comments they made in the car before carrying out their crimes.
Recorder Gregory Bull sentenced Longmore to 45 months in prison and Roberts to 40 months in prison.
Police pledged to "relentlessly pursue those who believe they have the right to steal" following the imprisonment of an Abersoch man.
North Wales Police said Jack Wellings, aged 28, appeared at court in Caernarfon charged with six shoplifting offences and common assault.
They said the offending happened between June 9 and 10 at Abersoch and Pwllheli. He was jailed for 30 weeks.
A "charlatan" psychic who sexually assaulted two women was jailed for four years and five months. John Starkey was sentenced at Caernarfon Crown Court
Starkey, 74, of Rhodfa'r Grug, Upper Colwyn Bay, claimed to be an "internationally renowned clairvoyant" with 40 years of experience. But he was unmasked as a sex offender after admitting charges of sexual assault by penetration and two counts of sexual assault.
He had claimed to have appeared on a string of major TV and radio shows. However Judge Nicola Jones denounced him as a "complete charlatan" and condemned his actions as a clear breach of trust.
Caernarfon man, Jamie Williams, used a gun to beat his brother unconscious before pointing the weapon at others who tried to stop the "relentless" attack.
Williams hit his brother with the weapon and repeatedly punched and stamped on him - continuing his attack even after he thought he had killed him. The victim suffered a swollen face and two black eyes in the attack, Mold Crown Court heard.
Williams, 24, of Chapel Street, Caernarfon, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of a firearm with intent and without a certificate, possession of ammunition without a certificate, converting an imitation firearm into a useable firearm and possession of cannabis. All of the offences took place on April 18, 2026.
Judge Nicola Jones sentenced Williams to five years and seven months in prison, with half to be served in custody and the remainder on licence.
A Gwynedd man ordered not to contact his partner after attacking her was found hiding under a bed at her home by police. Craig Rowlands, of Hafan Deg, Tanygrisiau, was issued with a Domestic Abuse Protection Order [DAPO] on March 19 which prohibited him having any contact with the woman.
It came after the 38 year old had attacked her by pushing, kicking and hitting her face and head in January.
On April 1, he breached his DAPO by going to her address. He was arrested by officers who found him inside her home. On May 21, officers were informed that Rowlands was at the address once again. Police attended the address and found him inside hiding underneath a bed.
He was jailed for 45 weeks.
A "vicious animal" left one man fighting for his life and another with life-changing injuries after a series of violent assaults. Colin Campbell attacked five men over a four month period in 2025, with some attacks happening while he was on police bail.
None of his victims knew 24-year-old Campbell, who unleashed devastating single punches on many of his victims, while headbutting another, Mold Crown Court heard.
Many had fractures, with "grave injuries" caused to at least two of them. It was "lucky" nobody was killed, said Recorder Neil Owen-Casey, during the sentencing hearing.
Campbell was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison, by Recorder Owen-Casey.
A man who hid in his ex-partner’s home after making threats of violence has been jailed. Philip Blakemore called a man and made threats to shoot his brother, a court heard.
He then sent a photo of a gun to the man’s sister, causing the siblings to fear for their lives. Blakemore was arrested following a six hour stand-off with police.
He was jailed for 14 weeks in total, including a 12-week sentence for breaching the DAPO and a two-week sentence for making threats.
A retired pensioner with a "lengthy, successful" career was jailed for dealing heroin. Arthur Hughes, 74, was a successful retired builder, Caernarfon Crown Court heard..
But his post-retirement side hustle as a drug dealer came to an abrupt end when police raided his Gwynedd home on August 8 last year and found 48 wraps of heroin with a street value of up to £33,600, prosecutor Ben Stanley said.
Sentencing Hughes to three years and two months in jail, Judge Simon Mills said: "It is rare to see a man of your age involving yourself in this sort of behaviour", as he branded the illegal selling of drugs "evil".
A rogue trader who carried out shoddy work for elderly residents in North Wales and in England has been jailed for more than five years. William King, 48, of Tonley Lane, Newark, Nottinghamshire, was sentenced at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, June 16, after he admitted five counts of failing to comply with a Serious Crime Prevention Order [SCPO]
He was jailed for five years and eight months, and handed a new five-year Serious Crime Prevention Order, which will come into effect when he is released from prison. You can sign up for all the latest court stories here
A man was caught with four types of drugs after a police raid. Darren Brain, from Llanrwst, was arrested after officers executed a warrant.
Brain, 39, was jailed at Caernarfon Crown Court earlier this month, after admitting drug offences including suppling cocaine. Police said it showed the value of neighbourhood policing.
A North Wales Police Conwy and Denbigh Rural statement said: "A Llanrwst man found to be in possession of four types of drugs when officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a warrant was jailed for two years and seven months."
Masked burglars stole two vehicles worth around £135,000 from a house before "something went wrong" during the getaway. The three balaclava-clad thieves broke into a home in Wrexham on April 30, 2026, Caernarfon Crown Court heard.
The damaged vehicles - a Range Rover and a VW camper van - were later found abandoned and damaged at different locations, Caernarfon Crown Court was told.
A police investigation later confirmed Breck Williams' involvement in the burglary. In a separate incident on March 22, 2025, Williams racially abused a taxi driver and took his keys after the victim picked him and his partner up.
Williams was sentenced to a total of three years and eight months in prison, with no more than half to be served in custody and the rest on licence.
Businesses in North Wales were targeted as part of a £462k fraud spree. Two men have now been jailed for their roles in the criminal enterprise, which followed an investigation by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit [SEROCU].
Yusef Tourino, 28, and George Campion, 25, both of no fixed abode, were sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court for their roles in the offending.
Tourino was jailed for five years and three months. Campion was jailed for a year and nine months
A man from Old Colwyn has been jailed for sex offences against two victims. Vishnu Remadevi was sentenced for "disturbing case" as police praised the victims for their "bravery".
On the first day of his trial, Remadevi pleaded guilty, and hs now been was sentenced to 11 years six months in prison.
Speaking after sentencing, Detective Constable Catherine Farrington added: “This was a disturbing case where Remadevi carried out a series of serious offences over a sustained period of time.
“I would like to pay tribute to the bravery of the victims for coming forward, despite the prospect of having to give evidence in Court
