From Clumsy to One-Click: The Future of Standards and Harmonisation

Katja Lehr, EMEA Payments Industry and Advocacy Lead at J.P. Morgan, whilst at EBAday 2026 in Copenhagen, spoke to FinextraTV to share her thoughts on regulation. Lehr said that because there are still another 18-24 months until PSD3 and PSR are implemented, the industry has a strong base to build on. She notes that, while these particular regulations are normally reviewed every ten years, this may no longer be sufficient. Looking at other initiatives, Lehr provides context into the benefits of eIDAS and other verification services, which could allow the industry to move from something fairly clumsy to something smoother and one-click.
