INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A person is in critical condition after being shot on Indianapolis’ east side Monday evening.

According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, at approximately 7:16 p.m., officers were called to the 5800 block of Village Plaza South Drive on reports of a person shot. That’s right off North Arlington Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

IMPD says they are working to gather information on the suspect and what led to the shooting. Police say they believe this is an isolated incident between individuals who know each other.
