Will Young is back after more than two years with his new single, Falling Deep.
The singer, 45, announced his '80s-inspired' track with a social media clip where he unashamedly promotes not only the song but also his upcoming album, Light It Up, as well as his accompanying tour.
Falling Deep is Young's first release since 2022 track Why Does It Hurt, and the studio album, which is slated for release on August 9, will be his first since 2021.
Donning an Abba-worthy brown suit over a cream shirt complete with enormous lapels, the 2002 Pop Idol winner stood next to a flipchart directing viewers though the details of 'the pop single of the year'.
'I'm so excited to finally announce my new single Falling Deep is out today,' he captioned the post.

In a comedic social media announcement, Young also announced his new album, Light It Up, will come out August 9, followed by a 50-date UK tour

With a telescopic pointer flying over the presentation, Young added: 'The pop album of the year people - Will Young, Light It Up. Gorgeous.
'It is positive. It is poppy. Out August 9.
'You can pre-order that, by the way, now.'
Moving onto the 'genius' single he revealed that its video used dancers in their 40s, 'because I'm mid-40s'.
He added: 'I wanted to work with dancers my age as I think sometimes there can be such a focus on youth in the dance world for all performers, and older performers come with such grace and wisdom.
'It was a fantastic day working with people my age. We all knew what a Nintendo Gameboy was and I think especially women can be overlooked as they age, so it felt very important to work with men and women for the project.
'I'm remembering my roots of pop and completely welcoming it. The song immediately made my mind go to the late 70s and early 80s. I wanted the fun and nostalgia of that time but to modernise it, and I'm so proud of the result.'
To celebrate the new 10-track album, which promises a return to 'joyous pop', Young is embarking on his most intimate tour yet - comprised of up close and personal evenings of acoustic performances, stories and conversation.
The Falling Deep video features dancers the same age as Young - in their 40s - with 'such grace and wisdom'. Young added: 'It was a fantastic day working with people my age. I think especially women can be overlooked as they age, so it felt very important to work with men and women for the project'

About the tour, Young said: 'I’m very excited to be going to a lot of places I haven’t been. I wanted to go to smaller venues so I could properly get around the country rather than just playing the big cities.'
Light It Up's release will be almost three years to the day after Young's last LP, Crying On The Bathroom Floor - a set of 10 covers of songs by female artists which reached third in the UK album charts.
Young's greatest hits album the following year hit number six.
In the time since then, the singer developed his acting career, fronting one-man-show Song From Far Away in 2023 across the UK.
The 50-date UK tour will run from September through to November. General on-sale begins on April 26, but people who pre-order Light It Up can get early access to tickets.
