An Australian man who competed in Netflix reality show Squid Game: The Challenge has lifted the lid on the harsh conditions contestants faced on set.

Jordan Levoux, a 29-year-old model, recently posted a TikTok video describing how difficult it was to compete the challenges, which were based on the smash hit South Korean series Squid Game. 

'Red Light/Green Light was by far the hardest challenge we had to do for the entire series because each time the music stopped we had to hold our position for 30 to 40 minutes,' he began.

The challenge was based on the original Squid Game challenge, in which contestants advance towards a finish line when a light flashes green and stop when it turns red.

Anyone caught moving when the light is red is instantly eliminated from the show. 

'This made the game go for eleven hours. That is an insane amount of time to be standing around doing not much. It was so cold, the middle of England during winter.

'This resulted in people having seizures and dropping. It was a crazy experience.'

Jordan admitted he was not upset the challenges were so difficult as people were competing for a jaw-dropping US$4.56million (AU$6.88million) - the largest cash prize in reality show history.

'I liked it. I'm not sure what everyone was expecting, did you think they were just going to hand over $4.56million? No, we were going to be put through the paces.'

He added that because filming took so long the crew forgot to serve him dinner, meaning he went to bed hungry. 

'I went into the next day really hungry but I signed up for this. I knew what I was getting myself into,' he added.

With 456 players, the reality show boasts the largest cast in the history of reality television. 

While hundreds of contestants have failed to garner any screen time before their eliminations, a handful of eye-catching players have managed to stand out.

However, Australian model Jordan Levoux has been impossible to miss with his shaggy surfer haircut and moustache that look like they're straight from the 1970s. 

Jordan is indeed a real person and works as a barista and swimming instructor in Sydney and according to his Instagram, the 29-year-old is also a model who has appeared in Perfect Man magazine.

Squid Game: The Challenge is currently airing worldwide on Netflix.
