Netflix is rebooting the popular 80s and 90s talent show Star Search.

The program ran for 13 seasons between 1983 and 1995 and launched the careers of many A-listers, including Beyoncé, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake.

The popular streamer has ordered a revival of the show, according to a report from Variety this week.

Formerly hosted by Ed McMahon, the new iteration will air two times a week via livestream and incorporate viewer voting.

'Each episode will spotlight the best up-and-coming performers across four categories — music, dance, variety/comedy, kids — as they compete for their shot at stardom.

'With an arced competition structure and weekly eliminations, the series builds dramatic momentum, making every live episode an unmissable event,' an official description states.

Details about who will host and judge the show, as well as an official premiere date have not been revealed.

It comes after former American Idol judge and Star Search choreographer Paula Abdul was poised to headline an updated version of Star Search for ABC more than 15 years ago. It never came to fruition.

Other famous faces that appeared on the talent series more than 30 years ago include Christina Aguilera and Dave Chappelle.

A young Aguilera sang a cover of Sunday Kind of Love by Etta James on the show in 1990.

And Chappelle performed standup comedy on the national TV show in 1987 and 1993. 

In November 1989, the late singer Aaliyah — who was just 10-years-old at the time — competed in the Junior Vocalist division, performing My Funny Valentine.

On Wednesday the Netflix site Tudum announced, 'After 20 years off the air, the show returns with all the nostalgia longtime fans have been waiting for—while pulling in a new generation with fresh faces and undeniable talent.'

The announcement teased, 'Get ready to meet your next obsessions: the artists poised to take over your screens and playlists for years to come.'

The reboot will be executive produced by Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, Madison Merritt and Elaine Metaxas for Jesse Collins Entertainment, and Jason Raff will work as showrunner. 

In addition to making their national debuts on Star Search, Britney, Justin, and Christina went on to be cast as Mouseketeers on the The Mickey Mouse Club.

The artists eventually were catapulted to superstardom when their solo music careers kicked off at the turn of the century.

Britney and Justin notably became a headline-making power couple when their childhood co-working careers blossomed into a full-on romance.

For her part, Beyoncé rose to fame with R&B act Destiny's Child before embarking on her record-breaking solo career.
