Alexa Chung and her rumoured fiancé Tom Sturridge wore mystery rings on their engagement fingers as she supported him at the Widow Clicquot red carpet on Thursday evening. 

The model, 39, and the actor, 37, sparked engagement rumours once more as they stepped out for the 18th Rome Film Festival at the Auditorium Parco Della Musica with matching rings. 

Alexa looked as fashionable as ever in an all-leather ensemble including a chic coat tied at the waist. 

Leading man Tom looked smart in a black suit as Alexa supported him on the big evening. 

The affectionate couple were spotted laughing and smiling with one another, with Alexa flashing her ring as she gestured to him mid-conversation. 

As she ran her fingers through her hair, the ring was once again on full display. 

They appeared smitten as Tom wrapped his arm around her, putting on a loved-up display of PDA as he revealed he was wearing a ring of his own. 

MailOnline has reached out to Tom and Alexa's representatives for comment.  

Directed by Thomas Napper, the film tells the story behind the Veuve Clicquot champagne family and business that began in the late 18th century.

Tom plays the late husband of Barbe-Nicole (Haley Bennett), François as she takes on his dreams for the company. 

However, as the film goes on it dives deeper into their relationship and offers a view of a different side to it.  

Back in June Alexa, was spotted with a ring on her wedding finger, leading people to speculate that they are engaged.

The son of award-winning film director Charles Sturridge, Tom seems open to marriage, while Alexa for her part, previously mused: 'I just don't get why marriage is different from non-marriage — I just don't get it.'

Tom and Alexa went public with their romance last July when they attended day seven of the Wimbledon Championships.

In a nod to their very unique set-up, in their first public outing, they were joined by Sienna, who looked joyous while sitting in front of the couple.

Tom previously dated Sienna Miller for four years and split in 2015 and share daughter Marlow, 10. They are still on good terms, with Sienna calling Tom her 'best friend'.

Sienna has given her seal of approval for her ex and Alexa and in December told Vogue UK: 'I'm really happy for them. It's genuinely lovely.'

The Layer Cake actress even joked about their co-parenting situation and revealed that their daughter Marlowe has brought one of Alexa's jumpers home, which she has since claimed for herself. Sienna quipped: 'I've got one upstairs!'

Following their split in 2015, it was claimed Sienna and Tom had different goals.

A source said: 'Tom wanted to get married and have more children. Sienna didn't.

'This year everything exploded with Tom in London and Sienna leading a separate life in the US and [her appearance at] Cannes'.
