Rachel Riley broke her silence on Anne Robinson and their Countdown 'feud' on Friday's episode of Lorraine where she also chatted about life as a new mum.  

It has been reported new host Anne, 77, is at loggerheads with maths whizz Rachel, 35, and lexicographer Susie Dent, 56, with an uncomfortable atmosphere' erupting since she took on the role.  

Staff at Media City studios in Salford claim that off-camera, there's tension over Anne's 'rather grand ways', which have earned her the nickname 'Queen Anne'. 

Speaking on the daytime TV show just 14 days after giving birth Rachel said: 'Anne's not the cuddliest person in the world, but it's just a different show now, she's making it her own. 

'She's getting some stuff out of the contestants - sometimes it's barbed, sometimes it's funny, it's just got a different flavour.'

Last month Anne reportedly turned off Rachel's microphone on set after becoming irritated by the host's small talk.   

According to The Sun, Anne became fed up of listening to Rachel chatting to contestants ahead of going on air, turning up at the last minute and being on her phone too much.

Rachel then reportedly told crew that she 'completely disagreed' with being silenced after the incident.  

A source told the publication: 'It's safe to say there's no love lost. Anne is famously known for two things: her dislike of noise and time-keeping. She'll tolerate neither.

'Anne also has tinnitus and cannot bear excess sound. Rachel, with her big heels and even bigger personality, can be quite loud on set. Rachel used to chat to contestants before every show, and Anne found it hugely distracting. 

'She felt she couldn't do her job properly, or bond with the contestants to help them to relax, before the cameras started rolling.

'The tension was palpable. Anne finds the whole thing hilarious.'  

Representatives for Anne, Rachel and Channel 4 were contacted for a comment at the time. 

The reported behind-the-scenes feud between the trio of leading ladies at Countdown has set tongues wagging among fans.    

During her Lorraine interview Rachel also spoke about becoming a new mum just two weeks ago.

The beauty gave birth to daughter Noa earlier this month, her second child with dancer Pasha Kovalev who she met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2013.

'I'm in that new mum daze,' she told Lorraine. 'She's just gorgeous. I've got two little girls now. Noa's two weeks old, so she was born on bonfire night, 15 days after she was supposed to arrive, to the sound of fireworks as I was contracting at home.'

Lorraine asked: 'So Pasha's in a house of women?' 

Rachel replied: 'We've got Noa, we've got our little girl Maven - she's two years old next month and his mum's over from Siberia at the moment, so she's helping us out so much.

Rachel went on to describe what it was like when Maven met her new baby sister.\

'When we introduced her [Maven] to her [Noa], she checked her tummy because she was telling us that she had a baby in her tummy - so she was like, 'It's out now'. That's good to know, painless for her.

'She's absolutely gorgeous with her, she just wants to kiss her and wants to have her on her lap and play her iPad toddler games with the baby's hand which is adorable. We're really loving it.'

Lorraine asked, 'Who would have thought when you went on Strictly you would get the biggest prize in the world?' and Rachel said, 'I didn't get anywhere near a glitterball but I got a husband and two little baby daughters.'

After her four-hour labour at home, she revealed Pasha made her tea and toast in bed.
