The latest Gen Z TikTok trend has thousands of women confessing their feelings for celebrities.

But instead of the expected swooning over Tom Holland or George Clooney, people are revealing their most embarrassing crushes on some rather unconventional famous faces - including animated characters.

The Hear Me Out challenge involves buying or making a cake but instead of decorating it with fondant or sticking candles into it, people are using pictures of the celebrities they are weirdly attracted to.

The bizarre internet challenge is an opportunity for players to confess their feelings for stars you might not see on People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive list.

From David Attenborough to Johnny Depp (but specifically as Captain Jack Sparrow), a group of friends take turns to reveal their humiliating crushes until the cake is covered with faces.

However it seems no crush is bizarre enough to be off the table. Some have been brave enough to reveal they are harbouring feelings for animated characters - which has raised eyebrows in the comments.

Popular choices include Lightning McQueen from Pixar's Cars, Kermit the Frog and even Donkey from Shrek.

So far, over 220,000 videos have been uploaded under the Hear Me Out hashtag.

Popular social media creator Claudia Kilsby has more than 325,000 views on her confessional cake video.

Claudia starts by admitting to liking Garfield the cat, before her friend Robin puts forward her crush: Barry Chuckle from the Chuckle Brothers.

The third friend Lauren then places Lightning McQueen in the cake as the other two giggle and add their own pictures of the animated racing car.

Honourable mentions on Claudia's cake include Garfield the cartoon cat, the Grinch and Lord Alan Sugar. 

A 'Hear Me Out' cake made during freshers' week at the University of Lincoln featured Megamind, Sirius Black from Harry Potter and Lightning McQueen from Pixar's Cars (again).

Another video showed two friends admitting who they have the hots for.

Their cake toppers include Sir David Attenborough and an animated rat from the from the 2006 animated film Flushed Away.

One woman places down Bandit - the main character in Australian animated television series Bluey which is aimed at nursery children.

Explaining her rogue choice, the woman said she has 'Daddy Issues'.

The other friend then goes on to choose Scar from The Lion King, who she describes as a 'baddy'.

The woman also admit to foaming at the mouth over fictional dinosaur Yoshi from Nintendo's popular Mario and Luigi games as well as Olaf the snowman from Disney's Frozen.

One rather delicious looking chocolate cake featured Sporticus from 2000s favourite LazyTown and Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

While another cake included Daddy Pig from ever-popular children's TV show Peppa Pig.

Shocked viewers took to the comments to share their thoughts on the embarrassing confessions.

A user wrote: 'The way my jaw kept dropping every time. This was wild.'

While others validated the creators in the comments. 

One said: 'I love you guys so much for Lightning McQueen.' 

Another commenter even made their own confession and wrote: 'Hear me out... THE WATER FROM MOANA'.
