Have you ever wished that the prominent voices of the big screen could speak to you as you're drifting off to sleep?

Some people opt to leave films playing in the background for comfort as they attempt to get some shut-eye - but one popular hotel chain is taking this concept to the next level.

Travelodge has launched a quirky new bedtime story service, featuring soothing voice impressions of big-screen celebrities such as Sir David Attenborough, Morgan Freeman and Sir Michael Caine.

The unique offering is to celebrate World Sleep Day today, Friday, March 15.

'Bedtime Snories,' voiced by talented celebrity impressionist Charlie Hopkinson, features seven well-known lullabies including The Owl & the Pussycat, Twinkle Twinkle, Humpty Dumpty and Incy Wincy Spider.

Hopkinson delivers the lullabies in the distinctive voices of the showbiz stars, to help guests fall into slumber.

What's more, the service is available to anyone, not just those staying in a Travelodge.

If you're looking for a great night's sleep at home, you can also watch or listen via Travelodge's YouTube channel - grab your headphones and snuggle down for a snooze.

The snoozy service is being delivered to the nation as it's been revealed that the Great British public struggles to get a good night's sleep.

Newly commissioned research by Travelodge showed that 57 per cent of us say we're not getting enough shut-eye.

The importance of a good night's sleep on our ability to function properly and enjoy the day ahead is well known.

The research confirms that 41 per cent of Britons felt a lack of sleep was the number one way to ruin their day.

Not being able to clear the mind (53 per cent) and a partner snoring (21 per cent) topped the list of things that keep us awake at night.

The budget hotel chain also asked respondents what their top sleep hacks were - with reading (33 per cent), meditation (15 per cent) and watching TV to drop off (20 per cent) topping the list.

Some even admitted they sleep the wrong way around in the bed or hide the clock to help nod off.

The Chief Sleep Officer at Travelodge said, 'You Snooze you lose? We certainly don't think so. Nothing is as important to set you up well for the day ahead as a good night's sleep, whatever your plans.

'As part of our most significant brand transformation to date, we're updating our hotel rooms to a more soothing colour palette, with wall art inspired by classic lullabies, adding blackout curtains and featuring our comfy, king-size Travelodge Dreamer bed

'With this World Sleep Day offering, we're taking Z's to the next level - yet another reason you Better get a Travelodge!'

It comes just after experts have revealed the best and worst sleep positions to celebrate World Sleep Day 2024.

From the 'Foetus' to the 'Soldier', most people sleep in one of six main positions - and some are much better for us than others.

'While you may not feel instantly uncomfortable in bed, if you regularly wake with aches and pains, or if you find that you frequently suffer with a disturbed night's sleep, a bad sleeping position may be the cause,' said Adam Hirst, head of digital at Woolroom.

With the average Briton getting between seven and nine hours of sleep every night, it's no surprise that most of us have a favourite position.

However, there's a distinct difference between a comfy sleeping position and a healthy one.
