The Super Bee comes with huge 16-inch brakes at all four corners, with six-piston calipers up front and four-pistons out back. Spring rates are up, there’s dual-valve adaptive damping, and the car rolls on 20-inch wheels with 305-series Goodyear summer tires all round.

If you’re more partial to a Michelin tire, more good news, as the Super Bee will kill those tires dead. A single touch of a button mounted directly on the steering wheel flips the drivetrain from standard all-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive, the better to smoke up the burnout box at the drag strip. I’m sure no Mopar fans would ever do a burnout anywhere else. Perish the thought.

Throw in a set of three black-and-yellow liveries and an interior colour treatment to match, and the Super Bee is ready to sting. Production is said to be limited, though no numbers were quoted, and pricing was also not released. Base MSRP on a slightly less powerful Charger Scat Pack is already above CDN$80,000, so it’s not going to be cheap speed.

Neither were the Hellcat variants, but as halo models, they elevated even the basic V6 Chargers you’d get at the rental counter. The current Charger has suffered more than a bit, having such big boots to fill. With the Super Bee, Dodge is clearly hoping it can win more fans with high-po honey.
