REUTERS/Jonathan Ernst/File Photo Senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad said on Friday that Israel must first halt its attacks, withdraw its forces and expand aid deliveries before Hamas places its weapons under the control of the enclave’s new technocratic administration.His remarks followed US President Donald Trump’s Thursday announcement that his Board of Peace had reached an agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups, calling it a major milestone in implementing his 20-point Gaza plan. The first phase of the plan was signed in October 2025.Trump said disarmament would proceed in phases alongside Israeli troop withdrawals, while an international stabilization force tasked with supporting Gaza’s demilitarization, securing its borders and training vetted Palestinian police would help stabilize the enclave.However, Israel and Hamas remain divided over sequencing. “We will not begin any weapons-related steps until Israel implements these commitments.
