Seiko has announced a new collaboration with Honda: the Seiko 5 Sports Field x Honda Motocompo Limited Edition (Model SRPL41). Designed to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the iconic 1981 Honda Motocompo folding scooter, this timepiece limits global production to 8,000 individually numbered units.

The watch features a 36.4 mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 12.5 mm and a 44.4 mm lug-to-lug length. Its design highlights a vibrant yellow dial framed by a central black crossbar that mirrors the scooter’s protective frame, with the Honda logo positioned at 9 o’clock. Additional homage details include a crown engraved with “TURN” to simulate the scooter’s fuel valve, custom “AUTOMATIC” typography at 6 o’clock, and LumiBrite luminescent hands. The watch uses a curved Hardlex crystal and a see-through screw-down case back displaying the Motocompo silhouette along with its unique serial number.

At its core, the timepiece runs on the Seiko 4R36 automatic movement, featuring 24 jewels, manual winding, hacking capabilities, and a 41-hour power reserve. A day-date display sits at the 3 o’clock position. The build supports 100-meter (10 bar) water resistance and 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance. The watch includes a gray nylon strap labeled with “CARRYING POINT” and “INSERTION POINT,” referencing the tie-down spots used to secure the scooter inside the original Honda City trunk. The packaging uses a specialized corrugated cardboard box styled after the original 1980s shipping crates.

The limited-edition model launches globally in September, with pre-orders open now. International pricing includes ¥52,800 (~$350 USD) in Japan (limited to 1,200 units), €390 (~$420 USD) in Europe, £340 (~$430 USD) in the UK (limited to 455 units), and A$575 (~$375 USD) in Australia. While confirmed for the US market, final official domestic pricing will be detailed near the release date.
