Kemal says the whole idea of NATO meetings has shifted from political discussions towards a simple market for selling more weapons.

As leader of the Communist party, Mr. Okuyan organized the main protests in Ankara against the summit. He says the government banned any demonstrations in the city, but leftists wanted to show the world that Turkish society doesn’t support NATO’s policies.
