Kitchen Dwellers have confirmed their New Year’s plans. The Bozeman, MT-bred group will route through New England as 2026 segues into 2027, performing at Portland, ME’s State Theatre on December 31 and South Burlington, VT’s Higher Ground on January 1 and 2. Neighbor will supply support duties on the first two nights of the run while Cotter & Friends, a combo built around Goose drummer Cotter Ellis, will open the final night of the brief outing.

In other news, Kitchen Dwellers have confirmed that upright bassist Joe Funk will take some paternity leave as he and his family welcome a baby girl at the end of the year. Twiddle bassist Zdenek Gubb is slated to fill in throughout the band’s New Year’s Run.

A message from the band explains, “A massive congratulations is in order for Captain Joe Funk and his family, who are expecting a baby girl at the end of the year! We couldn’t be more thrilled to see the Dwellers family growing 🐣 Papa Joe will take some time off the road but the low end will be in good hands with Zdenek Gubb of Twiddle, who is filling in on bass for our New Year’s run. Joe will be back on the road full-time in 2027.”

Last night, Kitchen Dwellers kicked off a co-headlining run of shows with Andy Frasco & The U.N at Indianapolis, IN’s HI-FI Indy. The tour continues at Cincinnati, OH’s Annie’s Music Center. Twiddle’s Mihali will round out the bill.
