The Juice Burst Drinks Co has blamed “significant levels of commodity inflation” for a 72.4% dip in pre-tax profits.

In the year ended 31 March 2026, the soft drinks supplier formerly known as Purity Drinks Co saw operating profits slide from £3.3m to just £835k. Profits before tax, meanwhile, fell by £2.6m to £978k.

“The biggest risks facing the business have been the orange and apple juice commodity supply chain, where a combination of unfavourable weather and disease has resulted in poor crops and exceptionally high pricing,” The Juice Burst Drinks Co said in accounts filed at companies house. “The second-biggest risk around commodities is rising oil prices making transport, production, and packaging more expensive.

“The company has sought to mitigate both risks through bottle size reductions and price increases, but these have had an impact on demand.”

As a result, turnover at The Juice Burst Drinks Co fell by 4.7% to £25.7m. The slowdown was less drastic than the 9.7% fall reported in the year prior, however.

“While the past year has presented challenges across the industry, particularly as a result of rising commodity costs, we remain focused on building a strong and sustainable future,” The Juice Burst Drinks Co CEO Scott Snell told The Grocer.

Snell was hired as CEO of The Juice Burst Drinks Co in April, following stints at Mark Anthony Brands, Pladis and Mondelez.

Under his stewardship, The Juice Burst Drinks Co has invested £1m in a refresh for its flagship Juice Burst brand and added Juice Burst Quench, a new functional hydration line.

“We’ve continued to invest in the business and the brand, including the recent evolution from Purity Drinks to The Juice Burst Drinks Company, reflecting our focus and ambition for the future,” said Snell. “That investment is also coming to life through a brand-new consumer campaign set to roll out next month, a broader range of drinks solutions, as well as a number of new and exciting customer collaborations that are helping us bring our drinks to more consumers.”

The Juice Burst Drinks Co was currently experiencing strong sales momentum, with unit growth of 25.6% and value growth of 33% YTD, Snell said, citing Circana data [12 w/e 5 July 2026].

“Our priority now is to build on that momentum, continue investing in the brand and our customer partnerships, and ensure the business is in the strongest possible position for its next stage of growth,” he added.
