Batavia Downs says it needs the public's help to get an artificial intelligence (AI)-generated, spoof video removed.The video, circulating on social media, shows a man listing jackpot winners and talking about a Batavia Downs app."If you see this video, please report it by clicking 'find support or report reel.'  This is a spoof ad, attempting to impersonate us in order to get you to sign up for an app that is not real," the Batavia Downs Facebook post read. "You can tell if an ad featuring us is AI-generated if it uses the word casino, as this one does. DO NOT download anything talked about in this spoof ad. Please report it to help us get it removed from online."Batavia Downs Vice President of Business Development Ryan Hasenauer said today that if enough people report this video to Facebook, it might make a difference."The way the Facebook algorithm usually works, if enough people report it, Facebook will take notice. You just have to try to get your people to report it until it gets banned or removed - take it down and hopefully ban that account if they've been caught doing this kind of thing before," he said.Hasenauer said the video came to his attention quickly."Our guests sent us direct messages on Facebook, our own employees saw it and forwarded it to me immediately. They said, 'You've got to take a look at this,'" he said.Hasenauer said that in Thursday's post on the Batavia Downs Facebook page, he pointed out the errors regarding the spoof video that he could see immediately."i-gaming is illegal in New York State. If you download an app that purports to tell you you can gamble online with real money ... They could disappear tomorrow, and you would have no recourse. New York State has no idea who these people are." The vice president of business development said Batavia Downs wants people to visit the casino rather than gamble through an unapproved app."When someone uses our imagery, our name, we're going to defend that (name)," he said. "We don't want anyone getting scammed because they think something is associated with us and it's not."
