Brassica was opened in early 2020 by the seasoned Ottawa chef-restaurateur Arup Jana. Previously, for 15 years, Jana had operated his well-regarded Holland Avenue restaurant Allium, best known for its small plates and banoffee pie, until that restaurant was destroyed by a fire in the spring of 2019.
