Can we get real for a quick sec? The gap between “my house looks like a Pottery Barn catalog” and “my bank account barely survived the month” has never felt wider. Between the $50 candles (that smell great, I will admit) and the $300 throw pillows we wish we could afford, the home decor girlies are being fleeced. Enter TJ Maxx — the discount chain your mom dragged you to as a kid, now quietly moonlighting as the internet’s worst-kept online shopping secret for home decor that looks like it cost triple. I’m talking about wall art that is virtually indiscernible from CB2’s $800 version, sconces that are nearly identical to some of Anthropologie’s best-sellers, and brass decor fixtures so convincing even your favorite home decor influencer probably wouldn’t be able to spot the expensive one from the $20 knockoff.

I spent more hours than I care to admit scouring my favorite home decor sites and then TJ Maxx’s website to hunt down the home decor dupes that earn a permanent spot on the shelf, no asterisks, no apologies. Here’s everything that made the cut.

Best Anthropologie Home Dupes at TJ Maxx

Vintage Glass Rechargeable Wall Sconces

The Eloise Scallop Milk Glass Sconce Wall Light from Anthropologie is stunning. But it will set you back $200, while the TJ Maxx version includes two sconces, requires no wiring (they’re rechargeable!) and comes with TWO lights.

Savings: $130

Frosted Glass Table Lamp

Anthropologie’s Lulu Velvet Lamp is one of its most iconic pieces of lighting, but the smallest size costs $300. At TJ Maxx, you can get a lamp in the same size, style, and color for $150 less. The TJ Maxx version isn’t velvet, but honestly that’s kind of better because how do you even dust velvet?!

Savings: $150

Monster Cheese Board

I had to throw this one in for my fellow Halloween lovers. Anthropologie has this Monster Cheese Board for sale at $68. I can’t be certain, but I’m pretty sure the exact same board is at TJ Maxx for under $20.

Savings: $50

Best RH Home Dupes at TJ Maxx

8×10 Willa Easy Care Performance Area Rug

Unless you have a millionaire’s budget, the nearly $5,000 Jenya Wool Rug from RH is merely a dream. Unless, of course, you’re willing to take a trip to TJ Maxx and pick up the nearly-identical Willa rug for $4,240 less. Not only is the TJ Maxx version cheaper, but it’s also bigger. RH’s Jenya Wool Rug is only 6’x9′ while TJ Maxx’s is 8’x10′.

Savings: $4,240

Howard Elliot Wall Mirror

Pottery Barn’s Radius Mirror ($400) would look gorgeous on any wall. So will TJ Maxx’s Howard Elliot Wall Mirror, which costs $300 less.

Savings: $300

Colleen Karis Plaster Wall Art

On the right is CB2’s ‘Rona’ Framed Wall Art that runs for $799. On the left is TJ Maxx’s Colleen Karis Plaster Wall Art that is listed at $70. Be honest, if you saw these both hanging on a wall, would you be able to tell the $800 version from the $70 one?

Savings: $730

Adesso Floor Lamp

The base on TJ Maxx’s Adesso Floor Lamp is slightly different than the base on CB2’s $1,000 Tailor Floor Lamp, but the vibes are the same. Who’s going to know the difference? We certainly won’t tell.

Savings: $940

So next time you’re tempted to add another $85 vase to your cart, take a detour through TJ Maxx first. The dupe of a lifetime may be waiting for you for a fraction of the price. Your shelfie will never know the difference, and your wallet will be oh so grateful.
