A Brisbane father was allegedly attacked with a crowbar by a party crasher at his son's 18th birthday party.

Police were called to Elkhorn Street in Enoggera at 11.35pm on Friday following reports of an altercation. 

They said a 56-year-old man was assessed at the scene by paramedics for a non-life-threatening wrist injury, while an 18-year-old was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for treatment of a hand injury.

A 16-year-old Springfield boy was arrested at the scene and charged with assault occasioning bodily harm while armed with an offensive instrument.

He is due to appear before Brisbane Children's Court on August 21.

It was revealed on Saturday that the incident occurred when a father attempted to manage party crashers who had turned up uninvited to his son's 18th birthday.

'These kids came in that we didn't know... So I got up and pointed at him and said, "Get out! This is not your party",' the man told The Courier Mail.

'He helped himself to a few drinks, filled his pockets up, pushed and shoved getting out, and then he slapped a couple of boys outside, a couple of partygoers, and they all chased after him.

The moment was captured on the father's front door camera, showing people standing around outside the home on Elkhorn Street during the night.

A young man then appears to march towards an older man holding a crowbar. 

The younger person can be seen swinging the crowbar at the older man, who moves away, before he walks away from the scene.

'It was a good 18th birthday party, spending all the time with my mates, having a good time, and some blokes just rocked up about 12am threatening people and stealing people's drinks,' the man's son told The Courier-Mail.

'We kicked them out and then the fight happened outside my house and then got jumped, crowbars were used, and then the cops came.'
