A somewhat unfinished and lengthy trailer for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse that was originally shown at CinemaCon has leaked online.

It’s a good time to be a Spider-Man fan. Not only is the webhead playable in the brilliant Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, but he’s also had what is undoubtedly his best movie in a long time with Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Real ones know that the most exciting thing that can happen with Spidey, though, is Beyond the Spider-Verse.

The third and final entry in Miles Morales’ Spider-Verse series has been a very long time in the making, with it being confirmed more than three years ago and originally slated for 2024, before being pushed back. We’ve only seen images from the finale since then, but a trailer that was shown some time ago has now leaked online.

The trailer in question is believed to have been exclusively shown at CinemaCon just a few months ago, with attendees describing the footage that we can now see for ourselves. It’s not clear how the trailer has been obtained, but it seems to be some sort of breach of Marvel or Sony that’s provided access to it.

One version of the trailer was posted by Twitter user 011alefr but has been removed as of the time of writing, with mirrors available all over social media. It's a lengthy one at over four minutes long, and it shows our Miles meeting Miles G. Morales and explaining what’s going on. Miles G and Aaron are unconvinced by the claims of a “Spider-Man”, but quickly come to believe Miles as his atoms shift.

The rest of the trailer shows a lot of quick cuts and scenes, such as Miles and Gwen meeting in Hobie’s dimension, Peter B. Parker finally donning the full Spidey suit, the Spot looking more powerful than ever, and Miguel looking out as Spider-Verse portals open up. There’s a ton to see, basically, and it all looks stellar.

That being said, the footage is clearly unfinished. Miles G. Morales doesn’t look as detailed as he did in Across the Spider-Verse’s ending, and there are some shots that are missing a bit of polish overall. Even with that in mind, Beyond is still looking absolutely incredible, even if we’re looking at a low-res version of the trailer.

Christopher Miller, one of the lead writers on Beyond the Spider-Verse, has reacted to the leaked footage with a post on Twitter. Miller says that he's "not a fan of leaks of unfinished, not fully rendered footage", confirming once and for all that the trailer's visuals aren't finished. It also makes it clear that Sony and the team working on Beyond the Spider-Verse really didn't want that trailer to come out.

At least, they definitely didn't mean for the whole world to see it in the state that leaked. While I totally sympathise with the team, I have to say that, even unfinished, Beyond looks absolutely incredible already. That doesn't make the situation any better, though, and I hope Beyond the Spider-Verse gets an official chance to debut soon.
