Katy Perry appeared at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland on Tuesday alongside boyfriend Justin Trudeau - much to the confusion of her fans.

The singer, 41, donned a muted beige ensemble as she attended the event in Davos with the former Canadian Prime Minister, 54.

While the I Kissed a Girl hitmaker looked the part of a politician's wife, some were baffled as to why she attended the forum, which brings together world leaders, businesses and organizations to discuss global agendas and address world issues.

Dozens of people took to social media to share their thoughts on seeing Perry at the unlikely event.

'Katy Perry at World Economic Forum, I am crying,' one user wrote.

'Why is she there?' another quizzed. 

'Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry attending Davos tells you everything about this annual event,' said another.

'What a strange timeline because what do you mean Katy Perry is attending a political forum in Switzerland,' another confused user wrote.

Other fans noticed the subtle outfit and behavioral changes Perry had made for the event.

'Not Katy having that concerned first lady look in her face!' someone observed. 

Perry wore an understated skirt and a cropped cardigan, with her luscious locks pulled into a conservative low chignon as she walked hand-in-hand with Trudeau.

Despite some observations, she looked delighted to be joined by her boyfriend, with whom she previously said she is 'having a lot of fun.'

At the forum, Trudeau discussed the importance of soft power in geopolitics at the World Economic Forum.

The former world leader also spoke of Ukraine's strong stand against Russia's invasion, calling it a 'soft power in action,' and said Canada's solidarity with Ukraine underscores a commitment to an international rules-based order.

'Never underestimate the resolve, the motivation and strength of people standing up to defend their sovereignty, their identity, their very existence,' he said.

It's not the first international relations trip Perry has joined Trudeau on. In December, the pop star met the former Japanese prime minister and his wife in Tokyo with her beau, while she was there on her world tour.

The couple first sparked dating rumors in July and have since forged a firm bond, frequently spotted out and about together.

In November, insiders told People about the couple's flourishing romance, which left both showbiz fans and politicos in shock when they went public in October in Paris.

The songstress announced her split from fiancé Orlando Bloom around the same time as the whispers began - something sources claim she did not 'expect.'

The unlikely duo's relationship debut came at her 41st birthday bash in the French capital, just days after images showed the duo enjoying a steamy boat day.

Sources have now said: 'Justin keeps making a big effort to see her and she's excited about it. [She has] a lot of fun with him. It's exactly what she needs right now.'

Another source reported he is a 'much happier person now.'

'Stresses are greatly diminished. And he is intrigued with Katy. They have fun together, laugh a lot, talk about everything,' they said.
