The Bakersfield Condors, AHL affiliates of the Edmonton Oilers, have signed center Tucker Robertson to a one-year, one-way AHL contract. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, which is the custom for AHL contracts. Robertson, 23, is a 2022 fourth-round pick of the Seattle Kraken whose three-year entry-level contract expired on July 1. A top scorer and league champion in the OHL, Robertson wasn’t able to translate his scoring from juniors to the professional level, and was largely a reserve center for the Coachella Valley Firebirds in 2023-24 and 2024-25.

In September of last year, the Kraken traded Robertson to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for J.R. Avon. The change of scenery appeared to help Robertson, as he had the most productive campaign of his young professional career with AHL Lehigh Valley. In 63 games, Robertson scored 13 goals and 28 points, but it wasn’t enough to earn a qualifying offer from Philadelphia. On July 1, he hit unrestricted free agency, and it took until now, early August, for him to get a deal, and he had to settle for an AHL contract. If he can find a way to build on his successful 2025-26 campaign, he could be a legitimately solid addition to the middle-six of the Oilers’ AHL affiliate.

• Former Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Ole Julian Bjorgvik-Holm has elected to leave the North American pro circuit. Per a team announcement, he signed a deal with the Graz 99ers, an Austrian club that competes in the ICEHL, the top professional league in Central Europe. A 2020 fifth-round pick by Columbus, Bjorgvik-Holm had spent the last four full seasons playing in the club’s minor-league system. The 6’4″ left-shot blueliner played largely in a depth capacity and even had stints in the ECHL, which helps explain why he only received an AHL contract to continue his tenure in the organization after his entry-level deal expired last summer. Now, he’ll likely be a key defenseman in a lower-level league, joining former NHLer Maxime Lagace on the defending ICEHL champions.
• Mac Hollowell, a former Toronto Maple Leafs prospect who was an All-Star in the AHL and OHL, signed a deal with the Iserlohn Roosters of the DEL, confirming his transfer from Russia’s KHL to Germany’s top league. The 27-year-old is a 5’10” offensive defenseman who most recently appeared in North America in 2024-25, on an AHL deal with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Over his most recent two AHL campaigns, Hollowell has 75 points in 120 games. The former top OHL defenseman, who proved himself as a capable No. 1 power play quarterback in the AHL, elected to leave for the KHL last summer. Hollowell struggled to adjust to the KHL in 2025-26, and he scored just 19 points across two teams. With this signing, he’ll get to try to revive the momentum of his career in a different top European circuit.
