The Branch of JSC “Mechanical Engineering Division-technology” “Atommash” in Volgodonsk (a part of machine building subdivision of ROSATOM - “Atomenergomash”) has started the Heat Treatment of Steam Generator Vessel for Unit No. 1 of “Rooppur” NPP.

The Item, which has the weight of approximately 160 tons has been placed to the furnace.  The temperature of the furnace heating is 650 degrees. The Vessel will be inside for 8-10 hrs.

Previously, the Steam Generator Vessel was assembled from four Shells and welded them together. During the welding process, about 580 kg of flux and more than 3,000 meters of wire were used.

The Steam Generator is heat exchange equipment, it is a part of Reactor Plant and it belongs to the 1st safety class equipment. Diameter is more than 4 m, the length of equipment is approximately 15 meters, weight is 340 tons. The set of equipment of one NPP Unit includes four Steam Generators.

Nowadays, seven Steam Generator Vessels for two Units for “Rooppur” NPP are at different production stages at Atommash.
