ZIOMAR Engineering Company (a part of the machine-building division of Rosatom-JSC Atomenergomash, Russia) and the Kazakhmys Energy PLC (Kazakhmys Energy, the Republic of Kazakhstan) have signed an agreement for the provision of services related to the modernization of equipment installed at the energy facilities operated by the Kazakhstan company. The document envisages carrying out inspections, the development of technical solutions, engineering, manufacturing and delivery of boiler equipment, as well as maintenance.

Kazakhmys Energy is a part of Kazakhmys Corporation PLC – the largest producer of copper in Kazakhstan – and one of the leading copper producers in the world. The company supplies heat and electricity to the industrial facilities of the Corporation as well as to the population of the cities and districts of Karaganda Region.

"The signing of this agreement is a major step towards developing constructive and long-term relations with Kazakhmys Energy. As a result of our cooperation, the effectiveness of equipment performance and the reliability of power supply to large manufacturing facilities of Kazakhmys Corporation should increase", noted Andrey Nikipelov, CEO of Atomenergomash.

According to Andrey Burunov, Director General of PJSC "ZiO-Podolsk" and the OJSC EC "ZIOMAR" «the customer will be offered cutting-edge technological solutions based on international cooperation with the leading foreign companies working in the field of engineering and manufacturing of boiler equipment». Enterprises located directly in the Republic of Kazakhstan will also be involved in the implementation of this project.

Kazakhmys Energy consists of GRES (State Regional Power Station) with the installed capacity of 663 MW and two thermal power plants with the installed capacity of 115 MW and 152 MW.
