It’s a scene many feared would not happen.

The Atlantic City 3-year-old was critically injured when he was struck on the street near his home July 3.

“It’s a blessing he didn’t break no bones, remember that?” Frank Lawrence asks as he spans the room recording.

Isaiah is not talking, but he’s up and alert, and letting people know how he feels.

In another video, he shakes his head no as he is asked multiple questions, until there is one.

“Do you want to go home and eat your Doritos?” a sibling asks.

That gets a nod of approval.

Frank Lawrence has stayed by his son’s bedside at Cooper University Hospital since Isaiah was brought to Camden.

Family and neighbors have stepped up to help with his five siblings. The family lost their mother in April.

A GoFundMe set up to help with Isaiah’s medical bills and loss of pay as his father is not able to work has surpassed $7,100 toward the current $8,000 goal.

“Oh, Lord, we just thank you for all the prayers,” Frank Lawrence says as he turns the camera on himself.
“We thank you for just healing him because we were so sad when this happened.”

Thomas Varickamackal, 67, of Jericho, N.Y., is charged with third-degree knowingly leaving the scene of a crash that caused serious bodily injury.

The driver “just kept going,” witness Jose Martinez previously told BreakingAC.

The vehicle was speeding down Pennsylvania Avenue when it went through the four-way stop with blinking red light and struck Isaiah in the oncoming lane, Martinez said.

The vehicle later was tracked to the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. Varickamackal was arrested and briefly jailed, but released pending the investigation after the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office did not file a motion to have him detained.
