The Cadillac Escalade makes an impression that cannot be ignored, and the 2026 Escalade Platinum Sport is the top shelf version, again.

This vehicle is enormous, 211.9 inches of unapologetic American real estate on wheels, riding on 24-inch alloys. And yet this is the part that still catches people off guard because it doesn’t drive like something that needs its own zip code. Air springs and Magnetic Ride Control keep nearly three tons of SUV surprisingly composed through potholed stretches on the eastbound Julia Tuttle Causeway and the twistier bits up toward Old Cutler. You brace for a barge but get an unparalleled ride that few vehicles of any size can offer.

Under the hood, Cadillac keeps it simple and, frankly, correct for this market. It has a 6.2-liter V8 pushing 420 horsepower paired with a 10-speed automatic that delivers 15 miles per gallon in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. In a city where half the appeal of a big Caddy is the sound it makes leaving the Design District, that naturally aspirated V8 is doing exactly the job Miami buyers want.

Inside is where Platinum Sport earns its name twice over. The cabin blends the Sport trim’s more athletic styling cues with Platinum’s full indulgence: soft-close power doors, quad captain’s chairs available, and an AKG Studio Reference surround 38-speaker system with Dolby Atmos that turns the cabin into a concert hall disguised as a school-run vehicle.

Behind the third row you get 25.5 cubic feet of cargo space, expanding to a genuinely useful 72.9 cubic feet with those seats folded, which is enough for a Wynwood art haul or a week’s worth of luggage for a family headed to Turks and Caicos.

Pricing starts at $134,000 for the Platinum Sport, and it climbs quickly once you start checking boxes, with 24-inch wheel packages, premium paint like Deep Sea Metallic, and floor liner packages that somehow always seem to run more than they should.

None of this is rational. A 6,000-pound, gas-only, 24-inch-wheeled SUV in 2026 is not the vehicle an efficiency chart would recommend. But efficiency was never the assignment.

The 2026 Escalade Platinum Sport is bought the same way a Brickell penthouse is bought. You buy it not because you need every square foot, but because the space announces something about how you intend to move through the world. Cadillac understands its Miami audience better than almost anyone in Detroit. It doesn’t need to be practical. It just needs to arrive.
