In a bid to improve effective service delivery amongst the Marshal Cadre (non-commissioned officers) of the Federal Road Safety Corps nationwide, these set of officers have been exposed to a Repositioning training at the RS 8 Command compromising Ekiti, Kogi and Kwara states.

The Repositioning training which held at the headquarters of the Zone in Ilorin, Kwara state, was conducted by Deputy Corps Marshal Joshua Fanola (Rtd.), while the Corps Marshal address was read by the Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO) for the three states, Assistant Corps Marshal Ann Oladayo.

The professional repositioning training programme is also part of efforts to improve operational efficiency, professionalism and service delivery in FRSC operations across the country.

The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, said the initiative, themed “Repositioning Marshals for Effective Service Delivery,” is a strategic investment aimed at strengthening the capacity, discipline and competence of frontline personnel.

Mohammed described the training as a critical step towards achieving the Corps’ 2026 Corporate Strategic Goals, which focus on operational excellence, institutional integrity, digital transformation and a sustained reduction in road traffic crashes.

He noted that Marshals are the most visible representatives of the Corps and that public confidence in the FRSC largely depends on their professionalism and conduct.

According to him, the training will equip participants with improved knowledge of the FRSC Establishment Act, operational procedures, traffic management, emergency response, ethical conduct, emotional intelligence and public engagement.

The Corps Marshal said the programme is being implemented across all 12 zonal commands in phases. He disclosed that the first phase covering RS1HQ Kaduna and RS5HQ Benin was successfully conducted from July 29 to 30, 2026, with subsequent phases extending to the remaining zones.

Mohammed urged participants to approach the programme with humility and commitment, stressing that the knowledge acquired must translate into improved patrol operations, emergency response, public engagement and respect for human rights.

He also charged facilitators to make the sessions practical, interactive and solution-oriented, with emphasis on addressing contemporary operational challenges.

Commending the FRSC Training Department for organising the initiative, the Corps Marshal assured personnel that capacity development would remain a priority of his administration.

He expressed confidence that the programme would produce better-trained and more accountable marshals, ultimately contributing to safer roads, enhanced traffic management and stronger public trust in the FRSC.

Fanola said the exercise is designed to make road Marshals more courteous, friendly and professional in the discharge of their duties, while some participating officers also expressed optimism that the training would enhance their knowledge, competence and effectiveness.
