A group purchased 2.48 acres for $12.5 million and unveiled plans for a new project on Las Vegas Boulevard.
A plot of land on the south edge of the Las Vegas Strip has been sold to a group that plans to open a “Top Gun”-themed attraction.
Advent Allen Entertainment announced Tuesday that it acquired a 2.48-acre site on Las Vegas Boulevard at Russell Road, saying this will be the home of an immersive destination inspired by the blockbuster movie franchise starring Tom Cruise.
It did not disclose the terms of the land deal, but property records show the buyers purchased the project site this month for $12.5 million.
The plot is between the Little Church of the West wedding chapel and the Pinball Hall of Fame arcade.
Advent Allen said it is developing Top Gun Vegas with entertainment giant Paramount. The project will feature the Hard Deck bar and restaurant from “Top Gun: Maverick” as well as “immersive attractions, experiential dining and retail, and a collection of interactive experiences,” according to a news release.
It did not elaborate on those features but said additional details will be unveiled as the project takes shape.
Lily Funds founder Tom McManus, who sold the property, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal before the sale was announced that the buyers had alluded to some kind of entertainment concept for the site.
Clark County Building Department records show an application prereview on file for a project described as an entertainment facility with restaurant and retail uses.
This isn’t the first time that Advent Allen and Paramount unveiled plans for a “Top Gun” project in Las Vegas.
In May 2025, they said the project was coming to The Strat. The companies described it as a “high-octane destination” with fighter-jet simulators and other features, including the Hard Deck bar and eatery with live piano singalongs.
It was scheduled to open in summer 2028, according to the announcement.
“Prepare for takeoff!” the news release said.
Then, in November, the companies issued another release on the “Top Gun” project but did not mention The Strat, instead saying the “pulse-pounding” destination with a flight-themed thrill ride would open on the Las Vegas Strip, without specifying the location.
“This is just the beginning — together, we’re taking Top Gun into the stratosphere,” Advent Allen co-founder Bill Allen said in that news release.
The Strat — known for its iconic 1,149-foot-tall observation tower with outdoor thrill rides at the top — was previously called The Stratosphere.
A representative for Advent Allen did not respond to requests for comment Tuesday on whether the operators still intend to open a “Top Gun” location at that hotel-casino.
