Night School and Finnish developer Moonloot are officially gone from Netflix Games.

Without further ado though today unfortunately we have the news that two more studios being closed as part of Netflix games cutting back and reorganizing its strategic structure I guess you would say in sort of business terms. As we are seeing Night School and Moonloot being the two studios as part of Netflix games that are being closed off. Night School is probably going to hit people Particularly hard as it's the developer of Oxenfree and its sequel, as well as the first-person interactive horror game Unhinged, which only launched a few weeks ago on Netflix."
"However, clearly hasn't been the rip-roaring success that it needs to be in order to Keep Night School Going Gamefile yada yada yada, business speak, we've heard it all before when it comes to these sorts of layoffs. But yeah, internal games teams as part of Netflix Games are expected to make, to have more layoffs in the near future, but we're not sure on the numbers yet. Again, sorry to everyone affected as part of Night School, Oxenfree 2 only launched a few years ago. And while these games, I'll just play the live stream in the background here for Oxenfree 2 Lost Signals. Oh, Rebecca. who we've not seen in quite some time at Gamereactor, but he used to be our resident streamer and of course is playing through the game here. It released a couple of years ago to pretty strong reception, the original game had a solid reception as well, not the biggest games you'll ever see but definitely games that had their audience and had a lot of charm to them as well. Night School and Moonloop."
"if I can speak plainly without talking objectively for news' sake, a bit of an abject misstep or misfire for Netflix as it tried to integrate gaming into its subscription-based service and apps and things like that but has failed to do much outside of shut down studios that it's bought and really make, at best, poor tie-in games with things like Happy Gilmore 2 and the FIFA World Cup but other than that We've really not seen anything stand out from Netflix games besides the ability to play certain games on your phone or tablet through a Netflix subscription.
