A server hardware company is one of four businesses expanding their operations to Southern Nevada after their requests for tax incentives were approved by state officials this week.
Hyve Solutions — a manufacturer of server, storage, networking and artificial intelligence computing platforms — plans to create 240 computer hardware manufacturing jobs in North Las Vegas over the next two years with average wages of $38.55 per hour, according to an application submitted to the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. The company will receive just over $1 million in tax abatements over a 10-year period and anticipates generating $19.5 million in state and local tax revenue.
“Nevada gives us the space, the workforce and the business climate to grow our manufacturing capability at the scale our customers need,” Jerry Kagele, president of Hyve Solutions, said in a press release after the Wednesday approval. “Expanding our advanced manufacturing capacity lets us create more jobs in the U.S. and we’re proud to be creating good, long-term careers for my fellow Nevadans as we do it.”
One of the other companies announced, Rapid Response Monitoring Services, plans to expand existing Henderson operations with 12,000 square feet of additional leased space. With this expansion, they are expected to add 75 new full-time positions to its current workforce of 240 employees. The average hourly wage for these new jobs is $29.96. Over a 10-year period, they are expected to receive an estimated $147,837 in tax abatements, according to materials provided to GOED.
“Southern Nevada continues to prove that companies in target industries can find the talent, infrastructure, and partnerships they need to grow and succeed in our market,” said Danielle Casey, President & CEO of LVGEA. “These investments highlight the strength of our regional collaboration and the growing opportunities across industries that are shaping the future economy of Southern Nevada.”
Plastic manufacturer ALPLA plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Southern Nevada and expects to create 51 news jobs over the next two years, with average wages of $35 per hour.
“With any new investment, ALPLA strives for long-term sustainable growth while minimizing the use of resources and energy consumption,” said Tasos Pourlourkakis, managing director for North America at ALPLA.
They will receive $818,718 in tax abatement over 10 years, while contributing $6.5 million in taxes.
Nimble Precision, Inc. is considering building a circuit board manufacturing facility in Clark County, but is still waiting for board approval. If selected, this facility would create 65 new jobs with an average hourly wage of $46.31. Other cities that Nimble Precision, Inc. is considering include Fort Worth, Texas, and Phoenix, Arizona, according to application materials. State incentives will play a major role in their ultimate decision. If they choose Nevada, they contribute an overall capital investment of $46 million, with a requested tax abatement of $4.6 million.
Combined, these projects are expected to create over 430 new full-time jobs in the next two years.
