Kasper Rasmussen has been awarded the Royal Society University Research Fellowship (URF) for 2015. The URFs are prestigious awards that provide the opportunity for exceptional researchers/early career academics to build an independent research career. These awards offer a minimum of 5 years of independent funding, and only around 45 exceptional candidates who are deemed “ have the potential to become leaders in their field” are awarded one each year.

Kasper completed his masters degree in Computer Science (Information technology and Mathematics) from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He completed his PhD at the Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich. During his PhD he worked mainly on security issues relating to secure time synchronization and secure localization with a particular focus on distance bounding. After completing his PhD, Kasper worked as a post-doc at University of California, Irvine.

Kasper joined the University of Oxford in 2013 as a Lecturer in the Computer Science Department. His research interests include the security of wireless networks, protocol design, applied cryptography, the security of embedded systems and cyber-physical systems.
